Job Title: Assistant Cost Manager

Job Summary:

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Cost Manager to join our team. As a key member of our cost management team, you will be responsible for managing, tracking, and reporting budget and forecasts, as well as ensuring cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the Cost/QS Group and assign priorities in conjunction with the Project Controls Manager.
  • Monitor and coordinate project-related payments, including payment certificates and invoices for contractors and consultants.
  • Review and approve work performed by Senior and Cost/QS Engineers as necessary.
  • Prepare and update monthly cash flow expenditures and budget forecasts for submission to management.
  • Make recommendations to management regarding variation orders, contractor's cost proposals, and engineer's recommendations.
  • Manage checks and verification of consultants' estimates.
  • Support the tender process and financial evaluation of bids as required.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis as required.
  • Monitor and report on progress of conditions affecting project cost.
  • Prepare necessary reports.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate, contractual, ethics, and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 8 years' experience in construction projects, specifically management experience across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and management skills.
  • Proven experience working within complex construction environments.
  • Ability to follow through and clearly deliver work instructions in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and interact with senior-level management.
  • Ability to consult, motivate, and negotiate effectively with client groups, coworkers, employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and prioritize.
  • Strong contractor management skills.
  • Expertise in PRISM, Power BI, Aconex, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Skills:

  • Advantageous to have extensive experience of significant PM/CM contracts.
  • Cost Engineering Certified is a plus.
  • Unifier experience is a plus.
