Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) professional to lead our health and safety management practices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will establish, implement, and maintain a comprehensive OSH management system that complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

The primary objective of this role is to identify potential hazards in the workplace, manage risks, evaluate existing safety protocols, and create effective programs to mitigate, eliminate, or prevent occupational injuries, illnesses, and property damage.

The ideal candidate will serve as an independent safety coordinator for the site, collaborating closely with project managers and other management personnel to prepare and keep updated all necessary project documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety & Health standards, including ISO 45001, throughout the project
  • Communicate OHS standards and requirements with stakeholders across projects as needed
  • Develop and implement OHS policies, plans, and procedures for the project
  • Guide OSH compliance with site teams on inspection activities and expedited close out of non-conformances
  • Develop and track OSH Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Provide advice, information, and support for the implementation of OHS management system requirements and the OHS plan
  • Manage incidents that occur and coordinate with internal and external emergencies
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the safety management program, identify opportunities and threats, and formulate plans to enhance employee participation in achieving company and corporate safety goals
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of Occupational Safety & Health laws, regulations, and associated management system frameworks, including international standard ISO 45001. They will also have experience in implementing OSH best practices, developing OSH policies, and ensuring compliance with site teams.

A Bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety, is required, along with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. Strong leadership ability, rational judgment, and reasoning skills are essential, as well as excellent communication skills and a high standard of English (oral and written).

15 years of experience in OSH compliance, with 3-5 years in an H&S manager role on construction projects, is preferred. Computer literacy in MS Office Suite is also required.
