Job Details:

This onsite position is located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and offers a 1-year extendable contract with Asterix Communications. As an employee, you will work directly with our client and be under our payroll.

Responsibilities:

  1. Predict and correct issues based on operational metrics.
  2. Evaluate document structure for query performance.
  3. Analyze deeply nested documents with complex relationships.
  4. Evaluate index mappings for performance with regards to complex document structures.
  5. Assess multiple sources and provide recommendations on sharing and index layout.
  6. Perform backup operations for an Elasticsearch cluster using best practices and following government security requirements.
  7. Debug, troubleshoot, and tune indices, mappings, and queries.
  8. Develop using Agile Scrum methodologies.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of related experience in software development.
  2. Experience with Java software development on Linux based systems.
  3. Requires conceptual knowledge of practices and procedures within a particular area of expertise.
  4. Excellent Elasticsearch and Autonomy skills.
  5. Experience in Elasticsearch stack, working with Elasticsearch based architecture, design, and development, including Kibana.
  6. Experience with various database tools, Oracle, PostgreSQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. An official Elasticsearch certification.
  2. Experience with establishing proper Security settings for Elasticsearch clusters.
  3. Familiarity with Cloud platform, specifically permissions inside of it, required for connections to Elasticsearch.
  4. Scaling and layout of indices to meet performance goals.
  5. Optimize Elasticsearch configuration to achieve required performance.
  6. Ability to provide ongoing operational and maintenance support for existing systems and applications developed using Elasticsearch.
  7. Ability to perform application bug fixes, fixes to reports, correction to business rules, and/or assist with completion of scheduled Enterprise Architecture (EA) and infrastructure or software upgrades as needed.
  8. Ability to provide technical support, capture new business requirements, and identify process improvements.
