Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Ladle Refining Furnace Operator to fill this critical role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel melting plant operations and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

About the Role:
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating the ladle refining furnace (LRF) and ensuring a safe working environment. This includes performing pre-operation inspections and equipment trials, preparing and readying the LF and auxiliary units for operation, and conducting all activities related to heat processing. You will also ensure 100% compliance with lifting chemistry, temperature, and superheat, and coordinate with various teams to facilitate smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform pre-operation inspections and equipment trials to ensure everything is in good working condition.
• Prepare and ready the LF, equipment, and auxiliary units for operation, including loading process parameters.
• Conduct all activities related to heat processing, including ladle receiving, purging, heating, alloy additions, trimming, slag control, sampling/temp activity, and heat lifting for caster as per process flow chart/process standard.
• Ensure 100% compliance with lifting chemistry, lifting temperature, and superheat. Any deviations must be reported to your immediate superior immediately.
• Coordinate with Refractory SIC for ladle rotation plan and ladle bay for tapping ladle condition, purging plug, and ladle lip condition.
• Work closely with EAF/LF supervisor and hot metal crane operator for tapped ladle transfer and electrode activity.
• Collaborate with CCM supervisor and hot metal crane operator for heat lifting to caster.
• Coordinate with heavy vehicle operator for slag removal from dumping area and additive operator for Ferro alloys and fluxes feeding.
• Log all information in Level 2 system related to heat report, deviations, delays, electrode changing/adjustment activities, and ladle details like Re-ladle and purging status reports.
• Conduct inspection activities such as ladle shell and slag zone bricks, lip jam condition, LF roof and delta for water leaks and metal jam.
• Perform electrode changing, adjustment, and preparation, and seek assistance from EAF/LF supervisor as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping activities to keep work areas safe from incidents, hazards, risks, and environmentally friendly.
• Air blow on holder, work floor cleaning, roof jam and inspection door cleaning, and assist LF operator in ladle car, track, and trench cleaning.
• During breakdowns, shutdowns, and major stoppages, provide support to maintenance departments and carry out activities like equipment cleaning/maintaining and painting.
• Handle all emergency and abnormal situations as per SOP's guidelines and superior's instructions.
