Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team at Parsons Oman. This role involves overseeing traffic signal and junction designs, ensuring effective communication with the project team, and developing and managing the scope of each traffic engineering design task.

Detailed Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee traffic signal and junction designs, ensuring effective communication with the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage the scope of each traffic engineering design task, creating schedules and establishing budgets.
  • Provide regular written and verbal updates on project status to the project manager, including reporting on project milestones, risks, and issues.
  • Presentation of technical results and recommendations utilizing expertise in traffic engineering.
  • Lead the project team in preparing traffic engineering plans, which may involve signal designs, signing and marking designs, conceptual designs for intersections, or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
  • Coordinate with various subject matter experts, such as surveyors and roadway designers to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Conduct and document traffic studies following nationally accepted modeling practices, using analytical tools and methodologies to evaluate traffic patterns and assess safety measures.
  • Assist engineers in developing technical approaches for traffic engineering projects and review technical results prepared by others.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior engineers, sharing technical proficiency and consultancy skills.
