The CARE organization seeks a highly skilled Senior Contract and Cost Manager to oversee all aspects of cost management, contract administration, and compliance within the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate must ensure that projects are delivered on time while adhering to contractual obligations and managing risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Management: Prepare and manage budgets for projects, ensuring accurate cost control through thorough planning and estimation.
  • Conduct detailed cost estimates and planning for project phases, closely monitoring financial status.
  • Identify potential overruns and report them to management in a timely manner.
  • Assess and approve subcontractor invoices and payments, maintaining transparent financial records.
Contract Administration:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of contractual correspondence and documentation, facilitating easy access and retrieval.
  • Manage variations and claims from contractors and suppliers, applying commercial acumen to resolve disputes effectively.
  • Resolve issues regarding contract terms and conditions, upholding the integrity of the agreement.
Risk Management:
  • Identify and evaluate project risks, proposing mitigation strategies to minimize potential losses.
  • Monitor risk management efforts throughout the project lifecycle, adapting to changing circumstances as needed.
Reporting:
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project financial status, including cost projections, actuals, and variances, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project costings, procurement, and contracts, facilitating transparency and accountability.
Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met, fostering effective communication and coordination.
  • Provide expert advice and support to senior management regarding contractual and cost-related matters, contributing to informed business decisions.
Compliance and Quality Control:
  • Ensure that all project work complies with company policies, safety regulations, and relevant industry standards, upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Conduct audits and assessments of contractor performance and financial status, verifying adherence to contractual terms and company expectations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, contract management, within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and commercial management principles.
  • Proficiency in project management and cost estimation software, staying updated with the latest tools and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
