This is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon's expanding Infrastructure Operations team as a Data Center Technician.
You will be responsible for designing, installing and maintaining the world's largest computing infrastructure.
You will work closely with our global network of technical experts to enhance operational efficiencies and share knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware
- Maintain high-level system reliability and availability
- Participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies
- Share knowledge and train less technical staff
- Contribute to building a great team
Requirements:
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix administration
- Server hardware troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of server booting processes (POST, BIOS, PXE, Kickstart, GRUB/LILO, RAID)
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies)
- Experience with network hardware (copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers)
- Strong communication skills
- Passion for IT infrastructure and hardware
