Purpose

This role is responsible for providing piping engineering services to Asterix Communications and its clients, including technical support and supervision within the piping engineering team.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver piping engineering services that meet Asterix Communications, its clients, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  2. Initiate, manage, and if required, supervise piping engineering project requirements.
  3. Perform piping engineering services such as:
    1. Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures.
    2. Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
    3. Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, such as writing requisitions, conducting technical bid evaluations, and writing purchase orders.
  4. If required, act as the piping engineering Lead on specific projects.
  5. If responsible for a team:
    1. Outline project requirements, including actively promoting workshare, assigning tasks, and supervising progress.
    2. Ensure the required services meet Asterix Communications, its clients, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
    3. Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Asterix Communications and its clients' requirements.
  6. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in piping engineering.
  7. If required, assist and support junior personnel within the piping engineering team.
  8. Communicate effectively with the piping engineering team and project stakeholders, including clients.
  9. Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
What You Will BringTechnical and Industry Experience

This role requires highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and the ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work to Asterix Communications and its clients. A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of piping engineering and the basic requirements of other engineering fields is essential. A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements is also necessary. Competent use of piping engineering specific software and relevant software such as MS Office Suite is required. Substantial technical and practical experience in piping engineering in the same or similar industry, including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams, is essential.

Required Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
  • A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
  • Preferred Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management, or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
