Job Title: Security System and Engineering Specialist

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Security System and Engineering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive security system to protect our assets and sites.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Security System Design and Implementation: Design and implement a robust security system that includes alarm systems, surveillance cameras, access control systems, and fire detection systems.
  2. Regular Security Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify and resolve any security vulnerabilities or issues.
  3. Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to security systems, including hardware and software components.
  4. Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with other departments to integrate security systems with existing infrastructure and ensure seamless operation.
  5. Staff Training and Education: Train and educate staff on the proper use and maintenance of security systems to enhance security awareness and response capabilities.
  6. Industry Trends and Best Practices: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in security systems to recommend improvements and enhancements.
  7. Security Incident Response: Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to detect and respond to any security incidents or breaches.
  8. Maintenance and Support: Supervise all maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and spare parts management.
  9. Technical Guidance and Support: Provide technical support and guidance to end users, system administrators, and service support technicians on security-related issues and questions.

Requirements:
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a security system specialist, security analyst, security engineer, or a similar role.
  3. Security Systems Knowledge: Hands-on experience with security systems and tools, such as CCTV, alarm panels, VMS, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and remote access systems.
  4. Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and applications, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Windows, Linux, etc.
  5. Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  6. Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Certifications: Relevant certifications in security systems or related fields are a plus, such as Milestone, Genetec, and Lenel.
  8. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with security systems.
