Job Description

The EVP, Chief Financial Officer serves as the senior financial executive, providing strategic leadership and guidance to ensure long-term financial health and sustainability of the company.

This role will work closely with the executive leadership team in our Head Office to align financial objectives with the overall business strategy. Overall responsibility for the strategic planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of a company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk and governance as well as negotiations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team
  • Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee all aspects of finance operations, including financial planning, analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and management of ad hoc financial projects.
  • Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as reporting for the same
  • Provide strategic direction, as well as track cash flow, manage the accounting and finance departments, and ensure the company's financial reports are accurate.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations that guide strategic decisions.
  • Oversee all treasury functions, including cash management, ensuring effective cash flow management and the timely settlement of financial obligations, including vendor payments.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or Master's degree) in finance, accounting, economics or a related field;
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in a complex, multi-faceted organization
  • Proven track record of developing and executing financial strategies that support business objectives
  • Experience in the financial services sector; Fintech experience is highly advantageous.
  • Extensive understanding of finance trends both within the company and general market patterns
  • Highly effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in the use of financial software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
  • Thorough understanding of advanced accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices, with great attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate finance processes are being used.
