Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Food and Beverage Server to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. as a Waiter/Waitress. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests.
  • Answer questions on menu selections, providing recommendations and ensuring guests are satisfied with their choices.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cook orders, and product availability, ensuring seamless service.
  • Record transactions in our MICROS system at time of order, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day, adhering to company standards and expectations.
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, and ensuring the dining area is secure and ready for the next day.
  • Present physical and accurate checks to guests and process payment, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout process.
Requirements
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others, supporting the team to reach common goals, and listening and responding appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards, reading and visually verifying information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift, moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, moving over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps, reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
