We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Cost Engineer to join our EMEA Construction Cost Control team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing cost support, guidance, and recommendations to our project delivery team to ensure cost management and analysis across a portfolio of fast-paced construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cost Estimation and Validation: Validate construction cost estimates at various stages of design, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  2. Cost Control and Management: Work seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams to communicate cost control goals to all stakeholders, identify value engineering opportunities, and quantify savings.
  3. Project Risk Management: Identify project risks and their financial cost impacts, communicating effectively to the broader team.
  4. Cost Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define and track cost performance metrics, leading monthly cost reporting, and analyzing vendor proposals using AWS benchmark data.
  5. Contract Management: Validate the final award amount and scope based on contract documents, ensuring accurate and timely vendor invoices.
  6. Project Close-out and Final Payments: Support the construction team with project close-out and final payments, ensuring smooth project completion.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in construction cost control, with specific knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or CSA cost elements.
  • Experience with Data Center or other mission-critical construction environments.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience reviewing and justifying budgets and estimates.
  • Experience communicating estimate strategy to construction and non-construction professionals.
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation.
  • Experience with estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, Onscreen takeoff, Timberline, and Bluebeam.
