As a Data Center Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data center facilities.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Facility Monitoring and Maintenance: Perform daily monitoring of Building Management Systems (BMS) and planned maintenance activities to ensure the optimal performance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment.
  2. Work Order Execution: Execute and fill Work Orders, verifying minor maintenance tasks performed by on-site technicians and witnessing major maintenance tasks performed by vendors.
  3. Equipment Management: Verify isolation, shut down, start-up, emergency shut-down, and restoration procedures of all data center facility infrastructure equipment.
  4. Alarm Management: Perform daily walk rounds, monitoring BMS, and clearing all critical and minor alarms on both equipment control panels and BMS workstations.
  5. Emergency Response: Respond to unplanned events and emergency scenarios, and sustain data center operations.
  6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, report any required changes to executed procedures, and advise on enhancements to current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and Method of Procedures (MoPs).

Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in data center operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including transformers, generators, switchgears, UPS, PDU, chillers, Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAH), FCUs, chilled water pumps, fuel systems, and other data center infrastructure equipment.


Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and a strong understanding of engineering design calculations, principles, codes, and standards for both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to provide direction to electrical and mechanical technicians, respond to emergency scenarios, and report problems accurately to vendors and facility maintenance supervisors.
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose the root cause of equipment failures, adapt to changing situations, and work under pressure.
