We're looking for a skilled Data Center Operations Specialist to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you'll be responsible for operating and maintaining world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure within our data centers. Your expertise will help ensure the highest standards of safety and security while providing seamless access to our customers.

About the Role

As a Data Center Operations Specialist, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
  • Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or a similar technical field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, including Mechanical, HVAC systems, and Controls.
  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
Preferred Qualifications

If you have experience in data center engineering, leading and managing operations of critical facilities that require in-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems, we'd love to hear from you. Additionally, knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Performance Management Systems (EPMS) control systems and data collection/trending is highly valued.
