Asterix Communications is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001 standards. Your primary role will be to ensure and improve compliance with applicable environmental regulations and standards, implement corporate environmental programs and procedures, and enhance facilities' environmental performance and business plan development.
Key Responsibilities:- Environmental Compliance: Monitor facility operating and business plans objectives to ensure consistency with environmental protection policies and all applicable environmental policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Environmental Problem-Solving: Identify deviations and develop solutions to environmental problems to ensure mitigation of facilities' environmental risk and improve compliance with company and governmental environmental regulations.
- Greenhouse Gas Management: Develop, review, and implement the Greenhouse Gas management program, including GHG data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Internal Audits: Conduct internal GHG assurance audits and provide support in the preparation of facilities' GHG third-party audits.
- Environmental Monitoring: Monitor solids and chemical disposals to guarantee safe environmental protection in compliance with governmental regulations.
- Environmental Performance: Monitor air quality, wastewater, and water conservation performance.
- Environmental KPIs: Establish environmental KPIs targets in alignment with company environmental policies and strategies.
- Environmental Management System: Develop, review, and deploy facilities' environmental management system in alignment with ISO 14001.
- Environmental Procedures: Develop and maintain environmental procedures and guidelines.
- Environmental Audits: Analyze and monitor facilities' environmental performance on a daily basis and conduct environmental audits.
- Environmental Benchmarking: Conduct internal environmental performance benchmarking studies among oil and gas refineries.
- Environmental Training: Develop and deliver training material to promote environmental awareness among refinery personnel.
You must hold a Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university/college and approved program. Strong management and coordination skills are essential, with EPI/QEP certification preferred. You should have a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in the Oil and Gas sector, specifically in Refining, Chemical, and/or NGL Fractionation Processes.
