Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations Manager to join our team at Banyan Tree. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our security department, ensuring the safety and security of our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Security Scheduling and Operations
    • Prepare and manage the daily schedule requirements for security officers.
    • Issue post-patrol assignments to security officers for the duration of their shifts.
  • Key Control and Distribution
    • Supervise all aspects of key distribution and control according to policies and procedures.
    • Report any discrepancies immediately to superiors.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain legible and accurate records of all control centre documents.
    • Include General Security Log, Key Control, Lost and Found, and Visitor Passes.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Management
    • Continuously maintain and service all equipment related to the department.
    • Control the car log books, distribution of car keys, damages, and kilometers driven per day.
  • Special Events and VIP Arrivals
    • Review scheduled functions, group, or VIP arrivals and special events.
    • Discuss special instructions with relevant departments.
  • Communication and Liaison
    • Liaise with local authorities to identify activities that may affect the operation of the hotel.
    • Share any concerns with superiors.
  • Access Control and Security
    • Provide access to high-risk areas, exercising vigilance for the protection of assets.
    • Secure the area when access is no longer required.
  • Guest Complaints and Incident Reporting
    • Report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found.
    • Assure follow-up with guests.
  • Crime and Disaster Scene Management
    • Control access to crime/natural disaster scenes to preserve evidence.
    • Await the arrival of authorities.
  • Investigations and Reporting
    • Attend to reports and follow-up on all reported guest disturbances or alleged theft incidents.
    • Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Security Log and Patrol Reports
    • Supervise the maintenance of the security log entries.
    • Track all security officer patrol reports and subsequent security activities.
  • Fire Safety and Prevention
    • Be fully involved in the fire safety protection program in collaboration with the Engineering department.
    • Ensure all new ambassadors are briefed and/or trained in Fire Prevention/Fire Fighting Procedures relevant to their position.
