About the Role:
As an Electrical Systems Specialist at GSK, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurement instruments and equipment used in drug manufacturing processes. This role involves developing and implementing calibration procedures, performing routine calibrations, and maintaining detailed records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The engineer ensures that all instruments provide precise measurements critical for maintaining product quality, safety, and consistency.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, develop, and update the calibration and instrumentation maintenance systems across GSAL site.
  • Stand in for the Electrical Officer position during vacation.

Accountability:
  • Carry out the calibration of site-validated devices according to Group-related policy, approved procedures, acceptance limits, and scheduling to assure operation as per validated parameters.
  • Communicate out-of-calibration devices to relevant owners as per SOP.
  • Ensure full compliance of the calibration system with GQP 4304 latest requirements applicable to the site.
  • Ensure all used calibration SOPs and routines are approved and valid copies.
  • Keep the calibration master file, raw data log book, calibration acceptance criteria list, and transfer of standards up-to-date and in audit-readiness status.
  • Ensure reference standards have valid calibration traceable to approved international standards.
  • Keep the calibration lab (RM423) organized and clean, with only applicable and up-to-date documentation filed in line with retention policy GQP3301.
  • Routine maintenance of Building Management System and utility programmable controllers according to manufacturers' recommendations and PPM.
  • Breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting of programmable controllers.
  • Maintain control systems' programmable and configurable software storing media as per ELE/SOF/412 standard operating procedure.
  • Use CMMS to record routine and incidental maintenance, review breakdown history, and update PPM routines as a preventative measure.
  • Operate new and established SOPs to ensure related systems and engineering documentation are kept up-to-date and meet current Glaxo Group, Local, and International Standards.
  • Keep authored SOPs up-to-date.
  • Supervise modifications related to systems engineering changes or capital projects.
  • Supervise electrical works including breakdowns, maintenance, and safety issues.
  • Work closely with other team members when required.
  • Ensure OEM manuals are kept updated and available at point of use.
  • Ensure adequate spare parts are available for each system.
  • Ensure tools and test equipment are kept safe and calibrated prior to use.
  • Attend training courses to improve work skills and keep training records up-to-date and ready for audit.
  • Maintain ELBs and comply with all site and relevant SOPs.
  • Validate/re-validate related systems as per company procedure.
  • Adequately adhere to Glaxo Environmental, Health, and Safety instructions to prevent accidents and deliver EHS Targets.
  • Act as a First Aid team member.
  • Report abnormal incidents, conditions, or near misses that may result in damage to other GSK staff, property, or reputation.
  • Comply with all related Group Quality Policies.
  • Participate in Operational Excellence initiatives and projects to ensure optimum systems running cost.
  • Fully familiarize and implement all applicable GSK Corporate Governance Policies.
  • Responsible for individually identified risks, escalate to the line manager, develop risk mitigation plan, and monitor implementation plan.
  • Analyze and put preventative measures for faults due to electrical/mechanical/instrumentation root causes, increasing pressure when production is impacted.
  • Communicate with maintenance supervisors and other departments' stakeholders for improvements.
  • Fully familiarize and implement all applicable Global Engineering Standards (GES) and ensure compliance.
  • Adhere to L1, L2, L3 & L4 Audit schedule and ensure timely CAPA closure.
  • Identify and escalate risks and update sectional Risk Log.
  • Carry out problem-solving sessions when required.
  • Zap Reporting & Closure.
