About the Role

Amazon MENA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced WHS Coordinator to join our team in Riyadh. As a key member of our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Site Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments for current and new activities to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  2. Establish WHS Training Matrix: Develop and implement a comprehensive training program to ensure all employees receive the necessary training to perform their jobs safely.
  3. Implement WHS Standards and Guidelines: Develop and implement site-specific WHS standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with local regulations and global best practices.
  4. Lead WHS Objectives and Programs: Develop and implement WHS objectives and programs to promote a culture of safety and health among employees.
  5. Promote a Safe Culture: Provide daily WHS content to shift briefings to promote a safe culture among employees and encourage them to report any safety concerns.
  6. Perform Site Safety Audits: Conduct regular site safety audits to identify non-compliance equipment and/or processes and develop strategies to rectify them.
  7. Work with Operations Team: Collaborate with the Operations team to implement solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injury.
  8. Attend to Incidents and Occupational Injuries: Respond to incidents and occupational injuries on site and conduct investigations to identify root causes and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  9. Guide and Assist Area Managers: Provide guidance and support to Area Managers on incident investigations, Gensuite write-up, and communication of lessons learned.
  10. Audit Record-Keeping Practices: Conduct audits to ensure Gensuite entries align with global WHS standards and local regulations.
  11. Ensure PPE Inventory: Ensure the PPE inventory at the site is accurate and up-to-date and coordinate with procurement for order placement.
  12. Conduct KSR Audits: Conduct weekly Key Safety Requirement (KSR) audits to monitor and support compliance with safety standards.
  13. Ensure Basic Fire Fighting and First Aid Training: Ensure all employees receive basic fire fighting and first aid training and maintain records of completion.
  14. Conduct Daily Powered Industrial Tool and Trailer Dock Release Inspections: Conduct daily inspections of powered industrial tools and trailer dock releases to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  16. Monitor and Support Daily Action Tracking System: Monitor and support the Daily Action Tracking System to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  17. Participate in Site Management Safety Walks: Participate in site management safety walks to identify unsafe acts and conditions and provide recommendations for improvement.
  18. Provide Daily Updates to Country WHS Manager: Provide daily updates to the Country WHS Manager on objectives progress, incidents, KSR, ATS, network actions, etc.
  19. Prepare WHS Committee Meeting Agenda: Prepare the WHS committee meeting agenda, MOM write-up, and ATS creation.
  20. Review and Sign Off on Daily Permit to Work: Review and sign off on the Daily Permit to Work to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  21. Lead WHS Related Procurement: Lead WHS related procurement and follow up to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  22. Prepare Emergency Response Plans: Prepare emergency response plans to ensure readiness in case of an emergency.
  23. Manage and Conduct Emergency Drills: Manage and conduct emergency drills to ensure readiness in case of an emergency.
  24. Prepare Records for Emergency Drills: Prepare records for emergency drills to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  25. Establish and Monitor Heat Index: Establish and monitor the heat index to ensure employee safety.
  26. Provide Support for Site-Specific Requests: Provide support for site-specific requests, unplanned events, and activities.
  27. Conduct Daily and Weekly WHS Audits: Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits to identify non-compliance equipment and/or processes and develop strategies to rectify them.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Engineering/Science: A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or engineering/science is required.
  2. +2 Years of Experience in OSH Field: +2 years of experience in the OSH field is required.
  3. Good Communicator - English: Good communication skills in English are required.
