Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Technician to join our team at ENGIE Solutions Middle East. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data center electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily performance monitoring of electrical equipment during walk rounds to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Execute Work Orders for minor preventive maintenance activities, including non-invasive testing, Infra-Red (IR) analysis, inspections, lubrications, replacement of consumables, etc.
  • Escorting vendors during major preventive maintenance and reactive/corrective maintenance activities.
  • Executing isolation, shut down, start-up, emergency shut-down, and restoration procedures of all facility equipment as needed.
  • Responding to unplanned events and emergency scenarios, and sustaining data center operations.
  • Escalating emergency failures and alarms to Facility Maintenance Supervisor and vendors.
  • Reporting any detected malfunctions or required changes to executed procedures in the Work Order once completed.
  • Requesting necessary tools and parts for Work Orders execution and returning tools and replaced parts once the work is executed.
  • Maintaining tools in good condition and properly disposing of spares and consumables as per implemented guidelines.
  • Advising on any enhancements to be made to current SOPs, EOPs, and MoPs through formal change requests.
  • Executing any required changes to the facility (set point, redundancy rotation, labeling, etc.).
Requirements
  • Diploma in Electronics.
  • Limited knowledge about engineering principles, design parameters, codes, and standards.
  • General understanding of electrical equipment in use in the data center (generator, UPS & batteries, etc.).
  • General understanding of mechanical equipment in use in the data center (chiller, Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH), FCUs, chilled water pumps, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety guidelines and procedures, especially for operating mechanical or energized equipment.
Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in operating and maintaining data center electrical equipment.
  • Experience in break fixing, dismantling, and assembling parts, and performing minor maintenance and workshop activities by hand.
  • Experience in equipment commissioning, startup/shutdown, LOTO (Lockout-Tagout), and isolation, as well as performance monitoring and alarm management.
  • Experience in BMS monitoring and alarm management from equipment control panel.
Skills/Abilities
  • Demonstrated skills in diagnosis, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work a rotational on-call shift.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adaptable.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to diagnose root cause of equipment failures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors who perform maintenance on the facility electrical equipment.
