Job Description:

Wood PLC is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our Saudi Finance team as part of the Projects business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for all financial matters, including accurate and timely completion of monthly reporting, optimizing financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all financial aspects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in monthly reporting and optimizing financial performance.
  • Report business financial performance to senior management, including variance analysis, accounts receivable, DSO, accruals, and unbilled analysis.
  • Take ownership of annual budget, forecasts, and rolling forecasts in conjunction with senior management, including validation/challenge over backlog, inputs from BD and operations.
  • Ensure forecasting accuracy and predictability through the rolling forecast vs monthly actual result process.
  • Own monthly customer billing, ensuring invoices are prepared in accordance with commercial terms of the contract.
  • Drive sustainable working capital improvements and/or maintain performance by working with operational management, project managers, supply chain, and other relevant areas to optimize cash collection and minimize DSO, including customer relationships and reporting.
  • Manage the business finance team, including recruitment, staff development, performance management, and setting objectives.
  • Take ownership of implementing and adhering to the finance operating model.
  • Assist during client audits and dispute management.
  • Engage with commercial teams on pre-award phase in terms of bids, rates, and relevant analysis and be a key contact and team participant for such, including input to financial terms contained in contracts and bids where appropriate.
  • Engage with commercial teams on post-contract award phase in terms of margin analysis looking for opportunities to drive improvements and commercial efficiencies, and attending key project reviews to ensure that reported financials are appropriate.
  • Engage with external and internal auditors to successfully complete relevant audits.
  • Be responsible for relevant project accounting, including monthly reviews, analysis, and project setup, accounting judgments, and provisioning while working with relevant functions such as Commercial, Legal, and Tax.
Qualifications:
  • A qualified accountant or working towards a qualification.
  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant accounting/commercial experience.
  • Commercial experience with a good understanding of cost models.
  • Previous experience of managing and developing teams.
  • Track record in people management.
  • Good IT/systems knowledge.
  • Experience of business partnering.
