About the Role
As a Quality Control Technician at Hitachi Energy, you will be part of our High Voltage Business team based in Saudi Arabia. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver world-class quality and drive improvements, ensuring a safe environment by implementing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough visual or dimensional inspections of purchased parts, materials, samples, and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Document inspection results accurately and in a timely manner, as required by our quality management system.
- Report any deviations observed during incoming inspections to the quality engineer or quality manager.
- Develop and maintain quality inspection records, applying visual indications on inspected parts as per established procedures.
- Create nonconformity reports and track the status of any nonconforming materials.
- Record and track daily inspection backlog to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain accurate traceability of component materials to inspection status.
- Handle materials in accordance with procedures to prevent mix-ups, damage, or other adverse effects.
- Log or track materials through the receiving inspection process and update SAP entries accordingly.
- Record transactions and move materials to the accepted material area.
- Communicate inspection results to quality engineers and other relevant personnel.
- Verify assembly documentation accuracy, read engineering drawings, and perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Collaborate with other departments to detect deviations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement correction measures.
- Support failure analysis, troubleshooting, site visits, reporting, and quality processes using the A3 template.
- Adhere to Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions and caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your Background and Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance.
- Knowledge of reading drawings and hands-on inspection of materials.
- Strong time management skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience with measurement tools.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
