BMC Cloud Operations Lead

Batterjee Medical College is looking for a highly experienced Senior Cloud Administrator to oversee the management, optimization, and security of our cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. This role requires a deep understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions to ensure high availability, security, and performance of cloud-based services.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Administer and optimize cloud infrastructure in Azure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and databases.
  • Microsoft 365 Services: Administer users, groups, Exchange online, SharePoint, Teams, and all Microsoft 365 platforms.
  • Cloud Service Management: Oversee the deployment and management of various cloud services, ensuring seamless integration and efficient resource utilization.
  • Cloud Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices, monitor cloud environments for threats, and ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST, NCA, PDPL, etc.).
  • Identity and Access Management: Manage Microsoft Entra ID, role-based access control (RBAC), and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to enforce security policies.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain cloud backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • System Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other tools to track system health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
  • Automation and Infrastructure as Code: Implement automation using PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates, or other tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
  • Network and Connectivity Management: Manage virtual networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, load balancers, and firewalls to ensure secure and reliable cloud connectivity.
  • Patching and Update Management: Ensure cloud infrastructure is regularly updated with security patches and service improvements.
  • Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud usage, analyze cost trends, and implement strategies to optimize cloud spending.
  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with development, security, and IT teams to provide guidance on cloud best practices and troubleshoot cloud-related issues.
  • Technical Documentation and Training: Maintain detailed technical documentation and provide training to IT staff on Azure cloud operations.
