Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Technician to join our team at Akima. As an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible for performing unit-level aircraft electrical, navigational, and avionics repairman maintenance on CH-47 aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance on aircraft avionics and avionics electrical components, including solid state and transistorized devices.
  • Diagnose and repair aircraft systems and components malfunctions using technical manuals and safety procedures.
  • Operate and maintain common and special tools, AGSE, and PGSE.
  • Ensure aircraft electrical maintenance activities are planned, coordinated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness rates.
  • Oversee daily aircraft electrical maintenance management of individually assigned aircraft.
  • Work within maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) and coaching to personnel in all aspects of aircraft avionics tasks.
  • Ensure all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner.
Requirements
  • Eight (8) years' experience and two (2) within the last five (5) years as an aircraft avionics technician.
  • Successfully completed and qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government armed forces Avionics Technician course or civilian equivalent training.
  • Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals and aircraft maintenance forms.
  • Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Possess a valid state or Government issued driver's license.
  • Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
