Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team at the Islamic Development Bank. As a key member of our organization, you will provide critical legal guidance and support in all matters related to insurance operations, corporate services, and treasury transactions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial law or banking and finance law, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in handling legal operations pertaining to insurance (underwriting, claims, recovery, and reinsurance). Prior experience in international trade, general insurance, or legal practice is highly desirable.

You will be responsible for providing legal assistance to stakeholders from the Underwriting Operations Department, participating in underwriting operations, and drafting/reviewing various legal documents involved in insurance operations. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and provide legal opinions on investments and insurance operations.

  • Participate in underwriting operations by providing legal assistance to stakeholders as required.
  • Draft/review various legal documents involved in insurance operations, including contracts and agreements.
  • Analyze and evaluate legal risks associated with insurance policies and transactions.
  • Provide legal opinions on investments and insurance operations to minimize financial, legal, and reputational risks.

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should also have a good command of written and spoken English, with additional languages such as Arabic or French being an added advantage.
