About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our offshore projects team, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting technical data related to offshore site locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on a variety of offshore projects, including those in the MENA and India regions.
  • Prepare and assist with technical inputs on projects, particularly those related to geotechnical aspects.
  • Prepare and assist with the review, analysis, and interpretation of geotechnical data.
  • Extract design soil parameters from field, factual, and engineering reports.
  • Conduct leg penetration analysis using ABL's in-house software.
  • Assist with report writing and writing technical notes.
  • Undertake geotechnical analytical work, create and maintain spreadsheets, in-house developed tools, and databases.
  • Undertake R&D projects, including developing innovative engineering tools and solutions.
  • Attend regular internal meetings and external/third-party meetings as required.
  • Prepare and assist with project bidding and proposal drafting.
  • Ensure all deliverables are conducted in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures, and policies.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2.1 Class Degree in Engineering, specializing in Civil, Geotechnical, Structural, or Geological Engineering, with a proven record of undertaking academic projects or work experience in an engineering organization.
  • Ability to apply engineering knowledge to a diverse range of problems.
  • Well-organized, insightful, and a self-starter.
  • Good communication skills and excellent report-writing abilities.
  • High level of proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, including engineers, contract managers, and QHSE personnel.
  • Good sales and business development techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player with a proactive approach.
Desirable
  • Strong academic background in Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Dissertation focused on a Geotechnical Engineering subject.
  • Previous relevant work experience in the offshore wind industry is an advantage.
  • Basic technical knowledge of offshore wind farm design and construction, with some specialist experience and skills in related areas.
  • Proficiency in French, German, Mandarin, or another language is an advantage.
