About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Initiatives Director to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for scoping and delivering complex strategic initiatives from planning through execution.

You will work closely with our cross-functional teams, including Professional Services, Business Development, Partner, Sales, Solution Architecture, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and the Program team to build the capabilities to accelerate customers' migrations to AWS.

The ideal candidate will bring strong outbound operations experience defining, planning, and delivering enterprise-level transformation programs, and a proven track record of delivering insights and creating new mechanisms to efficiently track and enhance business performance.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and driving high-level strategic initiatives
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and prioritize customers' needs and success enablers
  • Applying data-driven approaches to validate understanding and deep problem-solving skills to evaluate opportunities
  • Simplifying complexity to develop rapidly scalable programs and mechanisms
  • Working effectively in a dynamic organization with inter-dependencies with other teams within AWS
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in corporate or public sector program management and/or consulting
  • 6+ years experience managing and analyzing program data
  • 5+ years leading program development from idea to execution
  • Demonstrated ability to rely heavily on influence over authority to drive deliverables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

We are also looking for candidates with:

  • Master's Degree (MBA/MS)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-energy environment where strategic and tactical activities are expected to be driven in parallel
  • Demonstrated experience executing programs involving cross-functional teams
  • Experience communicating results and recommendations to leadership teams
  • Ability to self-direct and prioritize effectively to manage multiple simultaneous, constantly evolving programs
