About This Role

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for leading our commercial function and ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Administration: Manage contracts from pre-contract strategy to final account closeout.
  • Commercial Strategy Development: Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with project objectives and legal frameworks.
  • Procurement and Tendering: Oversee procurement and tendering processes, including commercial evaluations and contract award recommendations.
  • Claims and Disputes Management: Manage claims, variations, and disputes in collaboration with legal and technical teams.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Project Alignment: Collaborate with project teams to align commercial actions with cost plans and delivery schedules.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed commercial reports, forecasts, and executive briefings.
  • Mentorship and Support: Support and mentor junior commercial staff.

Requirements:

  • Commercial Experience: 15+ years of experience in commercial management, with a strong focus on contract administration and negotiation.
  • Senior Commercial Experience: Minimum 5 years in a senior commercial or contract-focused role within real estate or large-scale construction projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced Education: Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., MRICS, RICS, CIArb) preferred.
  • Contract Expertise: Proven expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, dispute resolution, and claims management.
  • Contract Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of FIDIC and other standard contract forms.
  • Procurement and Cost Control: Strong understanding of procurement strategies, cost control, and risk management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, MS Project, and contract management systems.
  • Languages: Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
