Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cake Designer to join our team at Calo Inc. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and decorating cakes that exceed our customers' expectations. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and test new cake recipes to meet customer demands and preferences.
  • Design and decorate cakes according to customer specifications, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste.
  • Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, maintaining optimal levels to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure a clean and sanitized baking environment, adhering to strict health and safety standards.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and presentation, consistently delivering exceptional results.
  • Utilize artistic skills to create visually appealing cake designs and decorations.
  • Order supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude, collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Inspect the quality of materials and condition of equipment used for cooking.
  • Develop new dessert recipes and test new flavors to stay ahead of customer trends.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a bakery chef in the hospitality and catering industry.
  • Proven experience in creating customized cakes for customers.
  • Exceptional pastry and cake decorating skills.
  • Creativity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge & Competency

  • Thorough understanding of pastry and baking tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of ingredients and their properties.
  • Proven ability to manage kitchen operations effectively.
  • Ability to divide responsibilities and monitor progress.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
  • Exceptional pastry and cake decorating skills.
