Primary Engineering Duties:

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Coordination with other engineering disciplines for substation projects and tenders.
  2. Coordination with internal and external stakeholders for scheduled progress of projects and tenders.
  3. Review of equipment specification and BOQ for supplier enquiries.
  4. Technical offer review and monitoring of supplier deliverables.
  5. Resolution of technical issues during FAT.

Your Background:

A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field is required. Minimum 12 to 14 years of work experience is required, of which 3-4 years of experience in a lead role is a must. Work experience in design & engineering, handling various utility substation projects in the Middle East (SEC, NG SA Transco, DEWA, FEWA Kahramaa, EWA etc.) in a lead role is preferred, with exposure to 33kV/132kV/220kV/400kV GIS and AIS projects.

Understanding of installation, testing, and commissioning requirements to effectively support the preparation of testing protocol and site activities is preferred. Detailed domain expertise in one of the domains (either primary or secondary) is a must.

The candidate must have the knowledge of other domains to effectively monitor and supervise the regular project engineering activities. Experience in:

  1. Relay setting and coordination.
  2. Knowledge of protection & control IEDs.
  3. Preparation and review of LVAC, DC system sizing calculations.
  4. Preparation and review of IO list, CT/VT sizing, control cable list and termination list.

Estimation of BOQ for RFQs during project and tender stage, supplier offer evaluations, witnessing FAT, and issue resolutions is also necessary.

Experience in coordination with civil and MEP disciplines in the substation, inputs for civil and MEP engineering, interfaces, coordination check with civil & MEP services, and preparing BOQ, deviation list, clarifications, technical proposals for tenders and customer enquiries for firm and budgetary tenders is essential. Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
