Job Title: Commercial & Contracts Manager

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Commercial & Contracts Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Management: Oversee and manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including cost estimation, budgeting, and expenditure tracking.
  2. Contract Administration: Prepare and manage construction contracts, including the preparation of bills of quantities for tendering purposes. Ensure that all contracts are properly drafted, reviewed, and administered.
  3. Cost Control: Analyze and manage project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment costs. Identify areas for cost savings and implement cost control measures.
  4. Procurement: Manage the procurement process, including the selection and negotiation of vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  5. Contract Negotiation: Lead the negotiation of contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure that all terms and conditions are favorable to the project and that risks are minimized.
  6. Change Order Management: Manage the change order process, ensuring that all changes are properly documented, reviewed, and approved. Prepare cost forecasts and reports related to changes and variations.
  7. Reporting: Provide regular reports on commercial and contractual activities, including cost performance, contract status, and risk management. Ensure that all reports are accurate and provide actionable insights.
  8. Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Manage relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Ensure that all parties are meeting their contractual obligations and that any issues are resolved promptly.
  9. Tendering Support: Support the tendering manager in the preparation of tendering documents and the bidding and selection process. Ensure that all commercial aspects of the tendering process are properly managed.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve commercial and contractual processes. Implement best practices and innovations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of these functions.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields.
  2. Minimum of 10+ years of experience in commercial and contract management or a related role within construction or project management environments.
  3. Experience in cost estimation, quantity surveying, and contract management within the construction industry.
  4. Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) certification or equivalent is preferred.
  5. FIDIC Certification or equivalent in contract management is a plus.
  6. Proficiency in cost estimation and contract management software.
  7. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  8. Familiarity with project control tools and software.
  9. Strong knowledge of contract law, contract administration, and commercial management principles.
  10. Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
