Job Details

This exciting opportunity is available for a Hardware and Software Technician to join our team. As a Hardware and Software Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to end users, ensuring they can effectively use hardware and software applications. You'll also be involved in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, designing, delivering, and training hardware and software applications, and maintaining the performance of all new and existing hardware and applications across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical assistance to end users to ensure efficient utilization of hardware and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for internal business users, resolving IT problems within designated timeframes.
  • Assist in the design, delivery, and training of hardware and software applications.
  • Maintain the performance of all new and existing hardware and applications across the organization.
  • Identify and learn appropriate hardware applications used and supported by the organization.
  • Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.
  • Participate in the design, development, and delivery of hardware applications training programs and individual classes.
Requirements
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
  • Training in personal computer components, laptop, and portable devices, operating systems, printers, and scanners, networks, security, communication, and professionalism.
  • Knowledge and skills of networking professionals.
  • Ability to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, install, operate, and configure basic network infrastructure.
  • Hold certifications from CompTIA A+ / Network+ Certification.

You should possess:

  • Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows Workstations, Windows XP, and Vista.
  • Extensive application support experience with IP Scanners, repairing S/W tools and converters, client antivirus, remote management agents, Exchange clients, VPN client connections, client firewalls.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
