We are looking for an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our APAC Infrastructure-Development team within the global Environmental organization of Amazon. The successful candidate will lead on environmental due diligence and permitting for multiple regions and sites in development.

The ideal candidate will have experience in obtaining environmental permits in APAC for project development, managing consultant deliverables and quality, and permit evaluations and applications. They will also have knowledge of environmental impact assessments, biodiversity integration, water discharge requirements, and waste management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare environmental permits and applications for timely submission to governmental agencies and regulators.
  2. Manage third-party consultant deliverables and quality for critical environmental disciplines: air permits, EIAs, natural heritage/biodiversity and cultural heritage assessments;
  3. Lead on environmental due diligence reviews (contaminated site management, remediation, initial environmental risk analysis, site screening, site approvals);
  4. Undertake regulatory, authority and agency negotiation;
  5. Collaborate with key internal AWS teams (Real Estate, Risk & Resiliency, Design Engineering, Legal, Construction).
About the Team:

You will sit in the APAC Infrastructure-Development (InfraDev) team within the global Environmental organization of Amazon. We are responsible for environmental due diligence, permitting and approvals for all new AWS sites in Asia-Pacific. We are a small, global team but highly-effective. We manage multiples of projects in APAC and are always innovating in how we complete our work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in environmental engineering, science, or related field of study.
  2. Experience in obtaining environmental permits in APAC for project development and the management of consultant deliverables and quality.
  3. Experience of permit evaluations and applications.
  4. Experience in environmental Impact Assessments, biodiversity integration, water discharge requirements, and waste management.
