Job Summary

The Resident Pediatrician is a key member of the National Medical Care Co. team, responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes, while maintaining a high level of professional performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide patient care within the parameters of their professional competence, as reflected in the scope of their clinical privileges.
  2. Conduct daily ward rounds, ensuring that all inpatients receive the highest level of care.
  3. Participate in the On-Call Rotations, providing 24/7 coverage and support to patients and colleagues.
  4. Admit patients from the hospital referral facilities, working closely with consultants and senior registrars to ensure seamless care.
  5. Evaluate new admissions, coordinating with consultants and senior registrars to develop a plan of investigation and management.
  6. Seek guidance from seniors when necessary, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
  7. Document all plans and progress in patient charts, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  8. Present previous day's admissions in the morning report, providing a clear summary of patient care.
  9. Participate in the delivery of medical care in outpatient services, working under the supervision of senior staff.
  10. Rotate through specialized inpatient units, gaining valuable experience and skills.
  11. Prepare problem lists, discharge summaries, and special reports as needed.
  12. Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) through medical meetings and educational activities.
  13. Carry out administrative and organizational duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
  14. Undertake any assignments given by the Head of Department.
  15. Responsible for educating patients and families, implementing their whole role in the patient and family education process.
  16. Involve patients and families in plan of care, respecting their goals and choices.
  17. Provide health promotion and health teaching, using methods appropriate to patients' developmental level and learning needs.
  18. Abide by the Policies and Procedures of the Department of Internal Medicine and By-Laws and Rules and Regulations of Riyadh Care hospital.
Reporting and Liaising
  • Reports to Senior Registrar, Consultant internist, or Consultant of the Subspecialty (Division), and Head of department.
  • Liaises with all Physicians, staff of supporting professional services, patients, and families.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years in Medicine after obtaining his/her degree.
  • Current valid license to practice medicine in the area of his specialty.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Communication in spoken Arabic is desirable.
  • Good general health and ability to work extended hours under stress.
  • Exhibits professionalism and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Is knowledgeable of the Medical by-laws.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
