Avionics Engineer

Your responsibility will be to perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections of our Boeing 787 fleet, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Additionally, typical duties include carrying out scheduled and unscheduled aircraft, engine, component maintenance and repairs compliant to the approved manufacturers documentation whilst observing all company safety procedures.
With a natural ability to lead in a time-critical environment, you will supervise teams undertaking Line Maintenance to optimize aircraft downtime. Key to this role is the inspection and certification of scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, and functional tests on Airframe, Engine and Electrical systems.
Your days will be spent troubleshooting to keep our aircraft's brains (avionics systems) in tip-top shape. Your passion will be updating aircraft systems and making sure our cockpits are smarter than a smartphone.
Design and Development of Avionics Systems
System Design: Design, develop, and integrate avionics systems, including communication systems (e.g., radios), navigation systems (e.g., GPS, radar), and flight control systems (e.g., autopilot).
Component Selection: Select the appropriate components for avionics systems, ensuring they meet functional and regulatory requirements, as well as ensuring compatibility with the aircraft's other systems.
Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes and perform system integration and validation testing to ensure the avionics systems perform correctly under various operating conditions.

Aircraft Integration: Work with other engineering teams to ensure avionics systems are properly integrated with aircraft systems, including electrical power systems, sensors, and displays.
Data Communication: Ensure that avionics systems communicate effectively with other aircraft systems and components, ensuring seamless data transfer and operational efficiency.
Integration Testing: Conduct integration testing and resolve any issues that arise during the integration of avionics components into the aircraft's overall system.
A minimum Diploma certificate, you will possess at least 8 years in Line Maintenance. Importantly, your expertise includes 2+ years certifying experience on Boeing B787 as a license holder. Boeing 787 Type Rating Level 3.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and inspections on avionics equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with avionics systems, including navigation, communication, and control systems, and develop solutions to rectify problems.
Repairs: Carry out repairs or recommend replacements of faulty components or systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining operational efficiency.
Compliance and Regulatory Standards
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all avionics systems meet aviation industry standards, including those set by aviation authorities such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Safety Standards: Adhere to safety standards when designing and testing avionics systems, ensuring all equipment is safe for both passengers and crew.
