Position Title: Lead Scientist, Global MTBE Org Unit Name: Oxygenates Tech Affiliate / Company: Saudi Basic Industries Corporation **JOB SUMMARY**: To support (as Subject Matter Expert) a Team of Engineers/Scientists and Chemists who are supporting all MEOH/MTBE Technology Improvement projects globally to Maximize Feedstock and Asset Utilization, technology reliability challenges, affiliate support & trouble shooting Utilizing Advanced Modelling, experimentation and Problem Solving Techniques. Drive development/ideation process of Technology Improvement Projects to Increase Yield and Improve Energy Intensity in alignment with all stakeholders (Manufacturing Sites, Business, Manufacturing, Technology etc ) Instrumental in driving programs and in delivering clear outcomes to Technology Programming and Business to fulfil technology gating system requirements. **Job Purpose & Responsibilities** - Responsible Technology Road Map Development (MEOH/MTBE), execution and support alignment with key stakeholders (Business/Manufacturing/Corp. Functions). - Support Development of Projects Pipeline aimed at Improving MEOH / MTBE Technology, Feedstock utilization, Yield and Energy optimization. - Review technically periodically Key projects and initiatives in MEOH / MTBE portfolio and set up mitigation plans for any technical challenges. - Support Manufacturing Sites in trouble shooting and technology related challenges to improve reliability/efficiency. - Support MEOH/MTBE Technology Assessments and Selection for Growth and Mega Projects. - Develop Young talents in the team by developing gap assessments on key competencies (recommend training / assignments/Coach/Mentor) for staff and align this with Line manager. - Collaborate with Business, Manufacturing Sites and other Technology Teams in improving SABIC Assets by closing Performance benchmarking gaps. - Support Project Leaders to define their project scope, needed competencies based on problem statement. - Ability to manage multi-task and adopt challenging work environment. - Skill of networking and connecting with several different types of stakeholders (Business, Manufacturing, T&I etc.) - Persuasive, convincing, challenging yet Inspiring Team to exceed target - Skill of reporting with consistent and good Data quality in alignment with stakeholders. **MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**: - Minimum BSc. Degree in Chemicals Engineering, and certification in the relevant area of expertise. - Minimum 15-20 years' experience in Technology Support and Deployment to Chemical Plant, Preferred Experience in MEOH Technology (Process Engineering or Operations)" any experience in MTBE technology is optional. - Good Experience in Project Management, Operations and process Engineering.
