Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in laundering and finishing solid linens, garments, drapes, bed covers, and other Hospital’s articles and ensures the environment is hygienic.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Plans and schedules the activities of personnel engaged in various stages of laundering, finishing and distribution operations.

2. Guides and assists workers to segregate laundry according to volume, degree of staining or soiling, and types of articles prior to laundering.

3. Writes reports and keeps necessary records, maintains inventories of supplies and orders replacement supplies if needed.

4. Responsible for proper running of equipment's and the amounts of chemicals. Ensures that established infection control and universal precaution practices are followed in the Laundry Operations as some tasks may involve exposure to blood/bod fluids.

5. Knowledge’s of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines for universal precautions, infection control and knowledgeable about Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for chemicals in use in all laundry areas.

6. Advises employees of correct procedures and washing cycles to be used for different types of articles.

7. Oversees the operation of various machines used in laundering and finishing articles.

**Education**:
Bachelor's or Associate Degree/ Diploma in Business, Hospital Administration, Environmental Health, or other related discipline is required.

**Experience Required**:
Grade 07:
No experience required with Bachelor’s Degree, or one (1) year with Associate Degree/ Diploma is required.

Grade 08:
One (1) year of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or three (3) years with Associate Degree/ Diploma is required.
