**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**

The Parachute Fabrication Technician Supervisor works in a highly challenging yet equally rewarding environment, playing a key role in generating aircraft for the RSAF customer. The role is therefore extremely high profile and involves interfacing with other departments and organisation such as SMSCMC, Workshops, Quality, Product Safety, MODSAP etc.

Work involves a balance between undertaking on-aircraft and component maintenance. Activities as a consequence can vary on a day to day basis.

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**
- Supervision of good engineering practice and compliance with RSAF Technical Orders in all aspects of Parachute Fabrication Shop Work.
- Inspects, surveys; evaluates; installs, repairs, maintains; troubleshoots; services, overhauls, modifies, and tests survival equipment items used on aircraft such as_:_

**_Aircraft Assisted Escape System (AAES); Ejection seat parachute assemblies._**

**_Seat survival packs; including Day/night Flares and 16mm Flares, Life rafts.etc._**
- Manage and provide functional guidance to the programs in respect of any engineering issues that may arise within their work area as well as supervision of tool control and the company SHE requirements and directives.
- Monitor all supply issues affecting the Parachute Fabrication Shop and implement BAE Systems human resources policies and procedures when required.
- Providing up to date briefings and information to all concerned parties on daily progress and any issues affecting the Parachute Fabrication Shop.
- Organising manning to provide an efficient operation of the Parachute Fabrication Shop.
- Leads a team of approximately 6 tradesmen
- Managing sickness and absence in accordance with local policy.
- Act as continuous improvement leader.
- Qualified to HNC / HND (with military add on training applicable to trade) or national civilian / military equivalent and successful completion of a recognised national aircraft maintenance traineeship / apprenticeship **OR** EASA Category B1/B2 Licence, with military add on training applicable to trade.
- Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course)
- Equipment specific training including initial and refresher training as required by the OEM and agreed with the Directorate of M&CA.
- Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.
- Must have a sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to his work area.
- Must have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels.
- An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
- Post holder must be HF trained, WOME trained.
- Hold a current driving license.
