Jeddah, Saudi Arabia King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre Full time

Provides administrative direction and coordination of all departmental services. Responsible for overall quality, performance and development of all therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care services and related policy and procedures documentation.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Plans, organizes, and assures provision of all respiratory care related patient services in the Hospital.

2. Develops and implements policies and procedures governing all aspects of respiratory care based on currently accepted standards of practice.

3. Develops expansions, additions, and modifications to serve as required to meet changing patient needs.

6. Establishes and develops performance standards, providing monitoring and appraisal of staff performance based on established standards.

7. Recommends or administers personnel actions such as promotions, merit increases, disciplinary actions and resolves staff grievances.

8. Ensures that department operates within allocated funds.

9. Prepares equipment budgets and other forecasts related to respiratory care services.

10. Consults with medical director and other key medical staff regarding departmental equipment needs.

11. Coordinates staff schedules and assignments to meet patient care and institutional needs.

12. Represents respiratory Care Services at Clinical Services meetings.

13. Maintains liaison with the department of Medicine and general medical staff, Nursing Services, other department heads, and various committees as appropriate.

14. Directly and thorough designees, evaluates new equipment and supplies, recommends, purchases as appropriate.

15. Supervises the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for all respiratory care equipment, supply inventory control, quality control and proficiency testing for all laboratory instruments.

16. Establishes and maintains compliance with departmental policies related to safety, infection and environmental control

17. Maintains department and equipment in a manner that promotes health, comfort and safety of patients and staff.

18. Compiles on-going records of procedures, department patient records, productivity and human resources statistics.

19. Uses statistics as the basis for planning, forecasting and justification of resources.

20. Maintains professional growth and development of Respiratory Care.

21. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.

22. Participates in self and others’ education, training and development as applicable.

23. Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Education**:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Respiratory Care required.Master's Degree in Respiratory Care or related Health Science preferred.

**Experience Required**:
Eight (8) years of experience with Master’s Degree or ten (10) years with Bachelor’s Degree as a Respiratory Therapist including three (3) years of experience in supervisory of management related position with direct experience in leading and managing a large complex Respiratory Care Service in a tertiary care facility.

**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
Respiratory Therapy Registry (RRT) from NBRC or CSRT preferred.
