The Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Technician performs duties on all related survival equipment supporting the CH-47 aircraft.

**Duties/responsibilities**:
1. Performs technical inspections, tests, maintenance, requisitioning, issuing, and repairing of aviation life support equipment and survival equipment, to include but not limited to: overwater equipment, anti-exposure suites, first aid kits, survival vests and kits, radios, aircrew body armor, restraint harnesses, flight helmets, chemical and biological protective masks, oxygen masks, and other related ALSE equipment.
2. Performs all applicable tasks IAW manufacturer's applicable TM's, etc.
3. Applies corrosion preventative procedures. Cleans, preserves, and stores ALSE equipment.
4. Uses and performs operator maintenance on ALSE, common and special tools.
5. Maintains facilities for storage of returnable and hazardous materials.
6. Requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of ALSE.
7. Prepares requests for turn-in and repair parts for ALSE.
8. Uses common measuring tools necessary for performing the tasks described herein, precision measuring tools and alignment fixtures.
9. Assists Customer in the requisition and maintenance of shop and bench stock items for repair of ALSE.
10. Ensures that all ALSE activities and procedures among designated organizations are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements.
11. Responsible for the compliance with established processes, procedures and reports that provide immediate situational awareness to management.
12. Establishes daily ALSE operational goals, objectives and priorities for implementation in-order to achieve success.
13. Works within the established quality control processes, procedures, and standards.
14. Directs inquires, investigations, and research analysis related to ALSE supporting CH-47 flight activities to the Maintenance Lead.
15. Coordinates activities and requirements for ALSE operations support with the Maintenance Lead.
16. Enters data, reviews, and updates aircraft/ALSE maintenance forms and records.
17. Provides On-the-Job Training (OJT), coaching, and mentoring to RSLFAC personnel in all aspects of ALSE tasks as directed by the Maintenance Lead.
18. Ensures that all related ALSE operations are conducted in a safe manner.
19. Other tasks as directed by the Maintenance Lead.

**SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:
1. Eight (8) years' experience and two (2) within the last five (5) years as a ALSE Technician
2. Successfully completed, and be qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government armed forces ALSE Technician course or civilian equivalent training
3. Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms or similar aviation maintenance management system, and other aircraft related documentation.
4. Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
5. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner
6. Possess a valid state or Government-issued driver's license.
7. Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.

**SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES**: Rotary Wing ALSE experience

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

HS diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree preferred.
US Military ALSE trained preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certifications, Etc.)

US Citizenship required.
