Supervisor, Area Pau

**Job Summary**:
The Area Supervisor provides guidance and direction to all Shift Supervisors. Functions as an interface with all Shift Supervisors, Maintenance and Department Management and controls on-site and off-site areas, to ensure that all production activities are carried out timely and efficiently according to standard operating procedures. The Area Supervisor ensures all shift supervisors are kept up to date on all operations and maintenance issues and/or changes in their designated area. Ensure all production and/or maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner within corporate policies, procedures, financial controls, and governmental regulations. Promotes a strong culture of safety and teamwork to ensure quality implementation of all MWSPC operational Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) guidelines, and the Continuous Improvement Process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensures all Shift Supervisors are:

- Properly trained and knowledgeable of all responsibilities in their designated area.
- Up to date with all company and departmental operating requirements and changes.
- Managing their designated areas in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
- Complying with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
- In compliance with company training plans
- Establishing work standards and ensuring high quality work products among work group
- Supervise, mentor and develop current and future Shift Supervisors
- Lead Shift Supervisors in risk and integrity management.
- Develop and steward a work area’s projects, programs and plans
- Sponsor/lead work team meetings to ensure team alignment.
- Assist in the development of departments KPI’s to ensure responsiveness to customers and to promote MWSPC’s Continuous Improvement Process on a 24/7 basis.
- Delegate daily work tasks and local project planning activities.
- Serve as primary field contact for personnel administration and employee issues that cannot be addressed by Shift Supervisor.
- Schedule and plan operations support and necessary relief
- Ensure product quality and accurate measurement.
- Ensures Shift Supervisors maintain their designated areas and equipment in safe operating condition while maximizing facility utilization, including coordination of preventive maintenance, capital projects, and emergency breakdowns to minimize cost and reduce downtime.
- Steward area expense goals (Expenses and Capital Expenditures)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Authorize work permits and ensure compliance with all lock-out/tag-out procedures. Ensure all actions are taken for the safe shut-down/start-up of the plant in line with standard operating procedures.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Degreed in relevant field or equivalent training and experience with sound knowledge of power plant and utilities processes and operations. 8 years operational and supervisory experience in a fertilizer, chemical, or power industry. Detailed technical knowledge of the specific process being operated is required including power production, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, cooling towers, plant air, instrument air, and biological wastewater treatment. Experience in Sulfuric Acid and Phosphoric Acid manufacture is an asset.

- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English required,
- Self-starter with mínimal supervision for routine activities.
- Extensive computer skills in using Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) plus other software pertinent to the work performed would be advantageous.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and foster a cooperative team environment.
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual is a plus.
- International work experience in remote camp environment.
