**Position Details**:
**Position Purpose**:
The Executive Chef will lead and manage all kitchen operations across our central kitchens serving hospitals. This leadership role encompasses the supervision of all culinary staff, development of comprehensive menus, and the creation of recipes that meet dietary requirements. The Executive Chef will ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety, while also managing food costs and inventory effectively. This position is integral to maintaining a collaborative kitchen environment that prioritizes excellence in patient dining and special event catering.

To manage our kitchen staff and to resolve kitchen issues swiftly. He will train staff to use new recipes, cooking techniques and equipment, and oversee cooks performing food preparation. He will oversee the delivery of food supplies, prepare special dishes, and supervise overall kitchen operations during dinner service.

**Primary Position Responsibilities**:
**Description**:

- Operational Leadership: Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring promptness, freshness, and quality of meals served across multiple hospital locations.
- Menu Development: Design and implement innovative menus and recipes, including snacks and dietitian-approved meals, tailored to patient needs and preferences.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and high performance. Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations.
- Food Presentation & Quality Control: Ensure exceptional food presentation and taste, particularly for VIP events and patient meals. Conduct regular tastings and quality assessments.
- Cost Management: Monitor and manage food costs, inventory levels, and supply orders to ensure budgetary compliance and efficient kitchen operations.
- Hygiene & Safety Standards: Implement and uphold stringent hygiene policies and safety standards. Regularly assess kitchen equipment and cleanliness.
- PATIENTS Engagement: Gather and analyze feedback on food quality and service, proactively addressing any issues or complaints to enhance the dining experience.
- Administrative Duties: Perform necessary administrative tasks, including stocktaking, purchase orders, and reporting to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Decision-Making Authority:

- Authority to initiate activities and make decisions related to kitchen operations, personnel management, and menu development, in alignment with NDC Management policies.
- Perform other relevant duties as required.

**Position Specifications**:
**Qualifications**:
Qualifications required by this position:

- 4+ years of culinary education.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, POS)
- Advanced knowledge of food professional principles and practices.

**Experience Required**:
Experience required by this position:

- +7 years of experience in a similar position.
- Proficient knowledge of human resources management.
- Excellent knowledge of BOH systems, ordering and inventory.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Available to work on-call, shifts, after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays.
