Technician

As a Technician you will be responsible to perform technical operations required for daily functioning of the Branch including assembling hose and fittings, interacting with customers, completing associated paperwork, handling cash, making purchases and sales and inventory management as per branch requirements.

As a Technician you are responsible for:

- Assemble hose and fittings as per customer or branch requirements
- Ensure that all products are serviceable (e.g. pressure test hoses) before use and that all items for sale are assembled in accordance with accepted procedures
- Ensure paperwork is correctly completed, signed and filed
- Operate as the first line contact/sales person for customers, interacting in a businesslike manner with them in person and on the phone
- Pressure test hose assemblies in accordance with accepted procedures
- Monitor and maintain stock levels, be familiar and thorough with the full range of Gates products.
- Ensure best and safe work practices of the quality management system are followed at all times
- Maintain the workshop, plant equipment and accessories in good order & maintenance of housekeeping at all job locations.
- Ensure workshop is kept in a clean and safe condition, and all products are kept in their appropriate place
- Recording of measurements and stock usage as the jobs are carried out
- Ensure all transactions are carried out in compliance with the applicable standards, Company Quality (ISO) procedures and provide advice to the QHSE Department of any non-conformance issues
- Comply with all occupational health, safety and environmental procedures of both the company and of client while working
- In addition, shall also support the activities of the other units whenever requested
- Other duties associated with successful development of the unit.

Required Experience:

- Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals and documents.
- Knowledge on fitting sizes viz JIC, BSP, NPT etc.
- Ability to choose correct hose, fitting and belt options based on information given by customer
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Preferred to have Vocational or Technical Qualification
- Should have Zero to Two years of experience in a technical field job
- Commitment to continuous improvement in Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment (QHSE).

- Able to use hand/power tools and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
- Good communication skills, able to converse with supervisors.

- Good numerical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 & API Q1, 7K & 16C standards are preferable.
