Senior Infection Control Coordinator

Assists the Assistant Director (AD) of ICHE and organizes/ coordinates the Hospital-wide Infection Control Program and provides a supervisory role within the department as assigned.
**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Collaborates with the AD, ICHE in developing and evaluating departmental goals and objectives, and managing staff requirements.
2. Assists the AD, ICHE in preparing the Infection Control quarterly and annual Significant Achievement Report.
3. Supports the AD, ICHE in developing and evaluating certain criteria for health-care related infections to be used in surveillance activities.
4. Consults issues pertaining to clinical management of patients with infectious diseases physicians and acts as a resource for members of the Infection Control Team.
5. Perform clinical responsibilities within related specialty such as(Nursing, Laboratory, Respiratory, Pharmacy, etc.) as assigned.
6. Cooperates with the Infection Control Team in ensuring accuracy and consistency in data collection, providing an advanced level of analysis to meet deadlines, and making recommendations regarding Infection Control practices.
7. Contributes with the Infection Control Team in identifying epidemiological variations, participation in outbreak investigations, reports findings, and making recommendations.
8. Designs special studies, as indicated when pathogens display unusual trends. Participates in approved Hospital-wide research studies as related to Infection Control.
9. Initiates and participates in research/abstract submissions and symposium presentations; at least once a year.
10. Collaborates in the development or revision of Infection Control policies, oversees and monitors compliance among Hospital staff, and makes recommendations for improvement.
11. Assists the Infection Control Team in conducting inspections, monitoring environmental standards, participates and reports on environment of care rounds.
12. Works with the Infection Control Team in monitoring compliance with environmental standards related to Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), American Institute of Architecture (AIA) for hospitals and healthcare facilities, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other regional and internationally recognized bodies.
**Education**:
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Laboratory Science, or a related field in Infectious Diseases/Public Health is required.
**Experience Required**:
Six (6) years of related Infection Control experience with Master’s, or eight (8) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.
**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
- Current licensure from country of origin is required.
- Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required.
