We’re seeking a Resident Engineer to help oversee the complex and the everyday project tasks on the project. Jacobs is construction supervision consultant for a multi-billion development mixed-use historic, culture and lifestyle destination. The project will be the Kingdom’s historic and cultural heart, proudly showcasing to the world Saudi Arabia’s 300+ years of history through an engaging and inspiring set of heritage, hospitality, education, retail and dining experiences for residents, tourists and frequent visitors. It aims to be developed as an urban, mixed-use development inspired by the principles of both new urbanisms ensuring its main anchors rooted in its historic culture and heritage. Ultimately, the destination will include museums, galleries, restaurants, retail experiences, public squares, hotels, multiple recreational spaces, residences, educational institutions and offices. Based in Saudi Arabia, as a Resident Engineer, you will provide oversight of the construction supervision of the projects to ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site, and that the requirements of the construction contract are followed. At the same time the Resident Engineer will be a focal point for any communication with the design office. Make a difference. You will be a key part of our management team and will be heavily involved leading our infrastructure construction projects. In addition, your duties will be to: - You will have the opportunity to be a leader and provide direction to the team of Engineers and Inspectors for the supervision of the construction of the works. - You will represent Jacobs as the prime point of contact with the client for the construction supervision aspects of the project, including progress reporting, safety, quality control and design modifications. - Manage and supervise the daily construction activities, ensuring work is done within the project timeline and specifications - You will be able to ultilise your knowledge / communication skills by building trusted relationships with the Project Managers and with the client & contractor's counterpart staff. Liaise with project stakeholders, including client, contractor, and designers, to keep everyone informed about project progress and changes. - Implementing safe construction practices (Beyond Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction. - Leads by example in driving safe practices on site alongside using effective project management and controls systems to regularly report on progress. - You will have accountability to monitor progress of construction against the program and take steps to ensure the program is achieved alongside ensuring project quality control procedures are used for the supervision works and monitors it for improvement. - Ensure that the materials and the workmanship used meet the project specifications and building codes. - Conduct daily site inspections to ensure conformity to design and project specifications and ensure that a high quality of work is maintained. - Identify and solve technical issues, unforeseen circumstances, or other issues that may emerge during construction - Lead a team of Engineers and do the required reviews and approvals for all Contractors submittals like (WIRs, MIRs, QORs, SORs, NCRs, MSRA, Logistics Plans, Shop drawings, etc) - You will help facilitate audits when required in accordance with the contract requirements and company internal systems and contribute to the safety and build-ability reviews of the proposed designs. **Here’s What You’ll Need**: You must have previous ARE/RE Experience on large scale projects.
