Head of Risk

**2. Job Purpose**

To plan, design and implement an overall risk management process for the organization to ensures complete risk mitigation through risk reduction strategies and insurance coverage. Prioritises risk mitigation strategies, seeks to close all exposure gaps satisfactorily and ensure all risks are covered with the provision of safe and appropriate insurance policies. Identifies emerging risks and establishes plans and actions to mitigate the risk or threat. Addresses the risks in mergers and acquisitions.

**4. Main Tasks & Accountabilities**
- Manages, oversees and directs the Risk Team.
- Delegates financial authority at the levels assigned.
- Designs, develops and implements the Amiral risk management policies, procedures and practical process.
- Acts as the designated risk person on overseeing risk events and incidents raised across Amiral ensuring timely risk capture, adequate actions plans for risk removal or mitigation.
- Assesses and reports general risks factors, in addition to defining preventive actions.
- Produce consistent and high-quality risk management reports to support corporate l governance
- Assesses, gathers and monitors risk information including key risk indicators.
- Monitors insurance contract compliance across Amiral..
- Develops, reviews, and makes recommendations for change in risk due to changing market conditions.
- Assesses the development and monitoring of operational risk appetite.
- Maintain and updating operational risk loss monitoring and reporting.
- Positively influence the risk awareness and culture across the Group through appropriate engagement, communication and coaching at all levels
- Work collaboratively with Corporate Governance, Internal Audit on risk management and build strong stakeholder relationship
- Provides due diligence support and advice on insurance policies, risk management programs, agreements, losses and exposures in matters of mergers and acquisitions.
- Analyse contractor's project and corporate insurance and risk management processes;
Facilitate project and corporate insurance purchases.
Negotiate and resolve insurance disputes and claims.
- Visit Amiral’s sites to monitor and suggest changes to risk related processes.

**5. Occasional Duties**
- Undertakes similar or related duties as directed by senior management.

7. Background Knowledge & Experience.

7.1 Education Level - Minimum

Preferred
- A degree in Finance

7.2 Professional Qualifications/
Mandatory Licences
- CPA or CA is preferred

7.3 Work Experience
- Experience in tracking and monitoring violations
- At least 10 years in experience with strong operational risk experience. Outstanding senior stakeholder management experience for 5 years is required.
- An excellent understanding of both Sharia and commercial laws and insurance laws applicable to Amiral are essential**.**
