Risk & Compliance Director

A major investment fund in Saudi is looking for an experienced Risk and Compliance professional to lead and develop their Risk and Compliance program. As a business, they invest in strategic investments across multiple sectors with a strong international outlook.

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Guiding and approving key decisions pertaining to Risk & Compliance Department, aligning with the overall objectives and policies for the group.
- Developing the strategy for the Risk & Compliance Department in line with the stated firm priorities.
- Overseeing the preparation of the annual budget and annual operating plan for the Risk & Compliance Department in alignment with the firm budget and operating plans.
- Managing the annual budget spend as per the annual operating plan for the Risk & Compliance Department and monitors deviations, if any.
- Measuring performance against financial and strategic KPIs for the Risk & Compliance Department and provide guidance for achievement of targets.

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring the design, development and implementation of appropriate systems and necessary models to calculate overall and specific risk exposure and their impact on the organisation.
- Overseeing identification of potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, implementation of corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
- Reviewing all key processes and procedures across the organisation in order to ensure operational risk compliance within the Group.
- Providing counsel and advice to all department managers on all operational risk management issues that may occur.
- Managing the development and implementation of a clear statement of the group’s overall risk appetite in alignment with the Board and Risk and Compliance Committee and Chief Executive Officer directions.
- Supporting the development of framework and guidelines to manage risk and helps to instill a risk-aware organisational culture.
- Assisting Risk Committee in evaluating compliance, ERP software’s to develop and implement an automated compliance monitoring and reporting system.
- Guiding the preparation of reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the Risk Committee and the CEO informed of the Risk Management operations.
- Partnering with the department heads throughout the asset management lifecycle to enable and ensure active risk management with an outlook towards optimising the investment.

**People-Management Responsibilities**:

- Defining goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensure effective implementation of the group performance management process.
- Managing the members of the team by evaluating their performance, providing feedback on an on-going basis, identifying development needs and coaching them to ensure capability development.
- Required Experience: 15+ years preferred.
- Strong knowledge in risk and Compliance management
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management and preferably international experience
- Strong knowledge of Risk Management Standards
- Fluency in English
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, accountancy, business administration or any other relevant field; preferably a post-graduate degree such as an MBA or equivalent.
- Remuneration: SAR 65,000 - SAR 80,000 per month
