**Press Brake Machine Operator Job Description**

**Job Summary**:
A Press Brake Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, shape, and cut sheet metal or metal plates according to blueprints and specifications. T

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Machine Setup and Operation**: Configure press brake machines by selecting appropriate tools, dies, and punches, and adjusting settings (e.g., pressure, speed, depth) based on material type and thickness. Operate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) or manual press brakes to bend, form, punch, or cut metal.
- **Blueprint Interpretation**: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine job specifications, tolerances, and bending sequences.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect finished parts using tools like calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards. Identify and correct defects or inconsistencies.
- **Maintenance**: Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance and prevent malfunctions.
- **Material Handling**: Measure, align, and load metal sheets or plates into the machine. Ensure sufficient raw materials are available and manage material staging.
- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to safety regulations, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean, organized work area to minimize risks.
- **Documentation and Communication**: Record production data, report equipment issues to supervisors, and coordinate with team members to ensure smooth workflow.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or Vocational training in metal fabrication, machining, or a related field is preferred.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in reading blueprints, using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers), and operating CNC or manual press brakes. Basic computer skills for programming CNC machines.
- **Soft Skills**: Attention to detail, problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, and ability to work independently or in a team. Strong communication skills for coordinating with coworkers.
- **Physical Requirements**: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
- **Math Skills**: Basic math skills for measurements, tolerances, and adjusting machine settings.
