Government Relations Officer

Job Purpose
Facilitate interactions between the organization and government entities to ensure compliance with regulations, manage official documentation, and build strong relationships to support business operations and objectives.
Accountabilities
- Liaise with government authorities to process required permits, licenses, and approvals in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements by staying updated on relevant laws and regulations.
- Represent the organization in meetings with government officials to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Process employee-related government documentation, including visas, labor cards, and residency permits, to ensure compliance with local labor laws.
- Address government inquiries and inspections by providing accurate and timely information to resolve issues effectively.
- Manage renewals of company documents, including trade licenses and certifications, to avoid operational disruptions.
- Act as a point of contact for government-related matters, ensuring efficient communication and problem resolution.
- Maintain records of government transactions and ensure documentation is organized and accessible for audits or internal reviews.
Role Requirements
**Qualifications and Education**:
- **Essential**: High school diploma or equivalent.
- **Preferable**: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
**Experience**:
- **Essential**: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in government or public relations.
- **Preferable**: Experience in managing government documentation and compliance processes in a relevant industry.
**Training**:
- **Essential**: Familiarity with government regulations, processes, and online portals.
- **Preferable**: Training in compliance management or legal procedures.
**Specialized Knowledge and Skills**:
- **Essential**: Comprehensive understanding of local labor laws, immigration processes, and business regulations.
- **Preferable**: Proficiency in the use of government e-services and portals.
Behavioral Competencies
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with government officials effectively.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance.
- Problem-solving skills to manage complex government-related challenges.
- Professional demeanor and integrity in representing the organization.

- Knowledge of labor law compliance and documentation processes.
