Engineer, Rotating Equipment Iii

**Position Summary**:
This position provides reliability engineering for rotating equipment to improve equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs. Reliability engineering includes reliability analysis and programs, and technical support to maintenance & operations for ongoing plant operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide engineering, design, analysis, calculations, evaluation, reliability program execution and other reliability engineering tasks for rotating equipment for Maaden facilities.
- Perform all work within code compliance, applicable industry specifications, standards and recommended practices, and site specifications and standards.
- Lead/Facilitate root cause failure analysis.
- Utilize advanced reliability techniques (FMEA, Weibull analysis) and act as facilitator in developing solutions to long standing reliability issues.
- Perform life cycle cost analysis on design modification and metallurgy upgrade options to provide recommendations to management.
- Provide technical input to strategies for maintenance, repair, and replacement specifications.
- Identify and implement improvement ideas to improve operational performance, increase availability, and reduce costs.
- Provide technical input to capital project design basis and support to develop project options.
- Identify and resolve process unit run limiters and critical reliability issues.
- Evaluate maintenance cost for rotating equipment and make recommendations for cost reductions.
- Develop and track fixed equipment replacement plans for assigned operating areas.
- Support Operations by responding to reliability needs and emergency situations.
- Support plant turnaround efforts with technical and leadership support.
- Review all data related to rotating equipment in project proposals, design drawings, equipment specifications for new and upgrade projects.
- Prepare rotating equipment detail design packages for plant modification and upgrades.
- Work with vendor technical representatives to resolve equipment technical problems.
- Inspect and commission new rotating equipment including vertical and horizontal centrifugal pumps, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors.
- Participate in investigation teams for the analysis of individual failures related to rotating equipment. These failures include but not limited to: Mechanical Seals failures, Bearings high temperatures, Vibration issues, and Misalignment related issues. Assist and direct Maintenance technicians in troubleshooting rotating equipment related problems.

**Qualification & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Min. 2 years of experience in an industrial environment in engineering or operations. Experience in the Refining, Petrochemical, Fertilizer/Mining or other Industrial Manufacturing organizations.

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of motors, turbines, compressors, fans, gear boxes, and pumps is essential. Extruders, agitators, mixers, reducers and dryers are an asset.
- Knowledge of gear design, ratings, manufacturing methods and quality control is preferred.
- Working knowledge on operation, maintenance and repair methods and techniques of gears, fluid drives, shafts, bearings, couplings, power transmission systems and turbo machinery.
- Knowledge of machine dynamics, vibration measurement and analysis, tribology and lubrication, and failure analysis.
- Proven track record of managing time limited projects.
- Excellent relationship building skills (internal and external)
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English required,
- Extensive computer skills in using Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) plus other software pertinent to the work performed would be advantageous.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and foster a cooperative team environment.
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual is a plus.
- International work experience in remote camp environment.
