**Position Summary**

Jubail is one of Bechtel’s most remarkable achievements—a city built from the sand up, requiring vast resources and logístical planning on an unprecedented scale. It the biggest civil engineering project in modern times—and it's getting bigger. Bechtel has managed the Jubail project, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, since it began in the mid-1970s. Bechtel serves as the Management Services Contractor (MSC), or “owner’s representative” for our client, the Royal Commission (RC). We are the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) managers, managing design submissions from local AE firms, and overseeing the actual construction work being performed by local contractors and sub-contractors in Jubail Industrial City. In June 2021, Bechtel’s contract with the Royal Commission was renewed for another 5 years with work focusing on building new residential communities, iconic buildings/ bridges, major site preparation, commercial buildings, mosques, schools, hospitals, sports facilities, clinics, universities, utility services and infrastructure (electrical sub-stations, lift stations), roads and highways, port & pipeline expansions, and more.

**Major Responsibilities**:
Review and guide design and documentation of all projects for the Royal Commission (RC) that are part of the growth and expansion of Jubail Industrial City and the Ras-Al-Khair Industrial City (RIC) in the Eastern Province. Projects include residential buildings, commercial centers, schools, sports centers, government buildings, infrastructure support, etc.

Regular duties include:

- Review project documents at each design phase for code and standards compliance, design solutions, and technical soundness.
- Play a lead role in implementation of BIM processes within the discipline.
- Play a lead role in obtaining LEED certification on selected projects.
- Assist in strengthening team understanding of sustainable design and construction practices and philosophies.
- Review and recommend solutions for on-site construction issues.
- Update standard technical specifications and details.
- Train and mentor junior colleagues, both formally and informally.
- Make site visits and document findings.
- In-house design assignments are possible.
- Represent the client in technical meetings and Value Engineering analysis.
- Other related tasks as assigned.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
**Essential Technical**:

- B.Arch. or M.Arch. from an accredited institution.
- Fifteen years’ experience in project delivery and construction administration.
- Technical knowledge of architectural concepts, techniques, materials, and construction methods.
- Experience in broad range of project types, including K-12, infrastructure, and institutional.
- Licensed/registered/chartered by recognized authority.
- LEED AP BD+C accreditation.
- Advanced background in obtaining LEED certification for projects.
- Advanced expertise in BIM project delivery.
- Advanced abilities in Revit, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools.

- Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management.
**Preferred Technical**:

- NCARB certification.
- Professional association membership (AIA, RIBA, etc.)
- Skill in assessing the scope of problems and developing practical solutions.
- Demonstrated interdisciplinary coordination skills and review capabilities.
- Ability to create and edit technical specifications (CSI MasterFormat).
- Ability to support construction department responding to technical queries and submittals.
